Transborder drug trafficker arrested in Sokoto with N1bn worth of cocaine
A transborder drug trafficker, 36-year-old Nkem Timothy, alias Auwalu Audu has been arrested in Sokoto by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, while trying to cross to Algeria through the Niger Republic with 62 wraps of substance suspected to be cocaine weighing 1.550kg, which has an estimated street value of about N1billion.

The CEO Badison Security Services Mr. Matthew Ibadin, has taken to his social media platform to thank the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, president Muhammed Buhari, on the appointment of a youth in person of Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa as the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The security expert in a statement in Lagos said he sees the appointment as a bold step towards curbing the rising state of corruption in the country, and also as a way of encouraging the youths in the country to participate in governance.

NDLEA: Marwa asks Nigerians to take ownership of the fight against drug abuse
The Chairman/ Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. General Mohamed Buba Marwa has urged Nigerians to take ownership of the renewed fight against the menace of drug abuse in the country.
Gen. Marwa gave the charge during the inauguration of a “Special Purpose Committee” of the NDLEA to mobilise the civil society to get actively involved in the fight against drug abuse, peddling and trafficking in Abuja on Thursday.

NDLEA intercepts container load of Tramadol in Apapa port
Arrests Indian, 89 Nigerians in Lagos raids
The Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has intercepted a container load of Tramadal at the Apapa seaport in Lagos, just as its operatives have arrested 90 persons including an Indian during raids of some drug cartels in parts of Lagos where a total of 614.396 kilograms of various hard drugs were seized.
