Drug addiction: NDLEA‘ll establish 6 standard rehab centres across Nigeria – Marwa

As part of efforts to treat the high number of persons suffering drug addiction in the country, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA will establish six standard rehabilitation centres, one in each geo-political zone of Nigeria.

This was disclosed in Abuja on Wednesday, 27th October 2021 by the Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) at the 5th Biennial National Symposium on Drugs and Drug Policy in Nigeria organised by the Centre for Research and Information on Substance Abuse (CRISA).

How NDLEA intercepted N6bn insurgents' drugs in Lagos port — Marwa

Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) on Wednesday 8th September, 2021 gave details of how loads of Captagon, a brand of Amphetamine meant for insurgents camps in Nigeria were intercepted by operatives of the Agency at the Apapa port in Lagos.

NDLEA: Marwa, late officers' widows hail President Buhari over payment of entitlements

Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) on Wednesday 25th August joined widows of deceased officers of the Agency to appreciate and pray for President Muhammadu Buhari for granting intervention fund to pay the burial entitlements of at least 188 personnel who died in active service.

WANTED DRUG DEALER CAUGHT IN CHURCH AS ANOTHER EXCRETES 68 WRAPS OF HEROIN AT LAGOS AIRPORT

•In strings of operations, NDLEA seizes 2,504.8kg of narcotics in Edo, Ondo, Kaduna

A major drug dealer wanted for attempting to export 69.65kilograms of cocaine, heroin and cannabis to the United Kingdom through the NAHCO export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, has been arrested at a church in Ojodu, Ikeja area of Lagos state.

LAGOS SECURITY: POLICE ARREST 2 DRUG PEDDLERS, RECOVER DRUGS, ILLICIT SUBSTANCES

The Operatives of the Area "E" Command, Festac of the Lagos State Police Command on 30th July, 2021, at about 6am, arrested two (2) drug peddlers at Dantata area, Mile 2, along Badagry Expressway, Lagos State and recovered weeds suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit substances from them.

The police had been intimated of the activities of the drug peddlers who were displaying drugs for sales with impunity around the area.

Drug trafficker intercepted at Abuja airport with N564m heroin

A drug trafficker, Goodluck Igbineweka Odeh has been intercepted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, NAIA, with 2kilogramme of heroin, which has a street value of N564million, concealed in the lining of false bottom of his suitcase.

The 40-year-old suspect from Ikpoba Okha Local Government area of Edo state was arrested at the departure lounge of the Abuja airport during an outward clearance of Ethopian aircraft 911enroute Abuja-Addis Ababa-Italy.

NDLEA nabs Chadian Boko Haram drug supplier in Taraba, trans-border trafficker in Yobe

...Recovers 477grammes of cocaine, heroin in Kaduna

Barely a week after operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, arrested a 70-year-old Nigerien who supplies Boko Haram and bandits illicit drugs; a 35-year-old Chadian who sells narcotics to the insurgents has been intercepted in Taraba state with assorted drugs.

Chadian lady nabbed at Abuja airport with 234 grams of heroin concealed in private part

. 109kg of illicit drugs intercepted at MMIA, NAIA

A Chadian lady, Vivien Tarmadji has been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, by the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, while trying to board an Ethiopian airline flight 911 enroute Addis Ababa-Italy with 234.35 grams of heroin concealed in her private part.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has intercepted well-concealed and unaccompanied parcels of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and cannabis sativa being shipped to the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Australia, Maldives and New Zealand.

NDLEA intercepts 200kg of hard drugs at Lagos, Abuja, Kano airports

Attempts by some defiant traffickers to export hard drugs through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos; Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano have been foiled by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, with 200 kilogrammes of the illicit substances seized from them.

At the Lagos airport, a 41-year-old Adewuyi Olayinka was arrested while trying to export 650 grammes of cocaine wrapped in two parcels to the United Kingdom through the SAHCO export shed of the MMIA cargo, Ikeja.

Marwa warns NDLEA officers against hostage arrest, illegal detention

Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) has warned commanders, officers and men of the Agency against the detention of suspects beyond the limit allowed by law, even as he also prohibited the arrest of a relation, spouse or acquaintance of a suspected drug offender, often referred to as hostage arrest.

NDLEA: Marwa asks Nigerians to take ownership of the fight against drug abuse

The Chairman/ Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. General Mohamed Buba Marwa has urged Nigerians to take ownership of the renewed fight against the menace of drug abuse in the country.

Gen. Marwa gave the charge during the inauguration of a “Special Purpose Committee” of the NDLEA to mobilise the civil society to get actively involved in the fight against drug abuse, peddling and trafficking in Abuja on Thursday.
