Olubadan sacks Baale, intervenes in traders’ dispute

The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, said on Tuesday that he would soon set up a committee to look into the crisis rocking the Ibadan Market Traders Association under the leadership of Iyaloja of Ibadan land, Chief Labake Lawal.

The Olubadan also announced the removal of the Baale Oloode in Oluyole council area of Oyo State, Lukman Alao, replacing him with Chief Odeyemi Olayiwola.
He gave no reason for his removal.
A source however said Alao was removed because of high-handedness in community matters and ritual performances which led to endless litigations.
A statement signed by the Director, Media and Public Affairs to the Olubandan, Adeola Oloko, said the Olubadan told several traders who came to his palace because of the controversy surrounding the removal of Iyaloja that he wouldset up a committee to investigate the matter.
