Be Selfless, Patriotic in the Discharge of your Duties - COAS Yahaya Charges Troops ...As he tours 82 Division Area of Responsibility

The Chief of Army Staff Maj Gen Faruk Yahaya have charged the troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army to remain selfless and disciplined in the discharge of their duties.

He made this assertion during his address to troops today 22 June 2021 at Abakpa Cantonment Enugu.

Fake News is a Major Source of Insecurity in Nigeria – Brig Gen Kawugana

.......calls on Media to sensitize Nigerians to be  citizens 

The Commander, 9 Brigade Nigerian Army, Ikeja Cantonment, Brigadier General Sale Kawugana has said that fake news is the major source of insecurity in the country and the government is the major victim.

Gen. Kawugana stated this on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) led by its President,  Mr. Samson Oki and other Executive members.

People approaching soldiers for political reasons – Buratai

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, has warned soldiers to steer clear of politics, adding that he received information that some individuals had been approaching some officers and soldiers for undisclosed political reasons.
Buratai warned that men and officers caught in meetings with politicians would be penalised.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, in a statement on Tuesday, disclosed the COAS’s stand.

Militant group begs military for amnesty, returns weapons

Members of the Bakassi Strike Force, one of the militant groups operating in the Akwa-Ibom and Cross River States of the Niger Delta have reached out to the authorities of the Department of State Service expressing their readiness to stop further hostilities on oil facilities and accept amnesty.
This followed series of military attacks on suspected hideouts in the two states which had led to the arrest of several members of the militant group while some reportedly lost their lives during gun battles with soldiers.

11 fake Naval officers arrested in Rivers

ELEVEN men suspected to be fake naval officers have been arrested in Rivers State.
The suspects were said to have been parading themselves as navy personnel with different ranks before they were apprehended around the Rukpokwu Police checkpoint.

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Apo, Abuja, on Thursday, ordered the remand of the Chief of Training and Operations of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Olutayo Oguntoyinbo, in Kuje Prison, pending the hearing of his bail application slated for June 6.
