EFCC uncovers 35 ‘illegal’ betting operators

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday said it has uncovered 35 lottery operators allegedly doing business without core licenses and permits.
It stated this in a series of tweets posted via its verified Twitter handle on Thursday afternoon.
The commission said the discoveries followed an attempt to end tax fraud in the lottery business, adding that only 21 operators and 18 firms were licensed by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC).

Two new cases of the COVID-19 have been confirmed in Nigeria.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday announced this via their Twitter handle, increasing the confirmed cases in the country to 46.

Confirmed Cases Of Coronavirus In Nigeria Rise To 44

Two new cases of COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus, have been confirmed in Nigeria.
One of the new cases was confirmed in Abuja and another in Bauchi State.
According to the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the cases have travel history to Germany and the UK
Governor Bala Mohammed is the confirmed case in Bauchi State.

China’s Huawei flies under the radar in Switzerland with industrial 5G networks for dairy farmers

A quiet Huawei Technologies-led 5G revolution is unfolding at the heart of Europe – in the bucolic Swiss hamlet of Taenikon.

Far from President Donald Trump’s campaign to stop the world from using the Chinese company’s technology, cows in this northern Swiss village – with its whitewashed cottages and manicured fields – wear Huawei’s 5G-connected neck-straps instead of traditional flat bells.

And in the village’s Cistercian abbey, converted into a test farm, Switzerland’s second-biggest telecommunications operator, Sunrise Communications Group, and Huawei test the next-generation 5G wireless network.
“You could call it a Fitbit for cows,” said Alexander Lehrmann, Sunrise’s chief of new business development and internet of things, referring to Fitbit’s fitness device. “It allows farmers to get complete control and insight into their health conditions at any time and from any place.”

Gorilla escapes with N6.8m in Kano zoo, swallows it - Finance officer claims

A gorilla has been accused of swallowing the N6.8 million in the Kano Zoological Gardens, according to BBC.

A finance officer at Kano Zoological Gardens has claimed that a gorilla swallowed N6.8 million that went missing under their watch.


The finance officer, according to radio station in the state, Freedom Radio, said the gorilla “sneaked into their office” and carted away the money before swallowing it.



The money was generated from tourists who visited the zoo during the Eid celebrations. The managing director of the zoo, Umar Kobo, confirmed that the money is missing and that the issue is being investigated.
