Leave Fayose out of Buhari, Obasanjo’s fight

The Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, has told the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, to steer clear of his boss.
Olayinka advised Shehu not to drag Governor Ayodele Fayose into President Muhammadu Buhari’s messy fight with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Bode George should beg Obasanjo, says Oyinlola

A former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has advised the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olabode George, to seek forgiveness from former President Olusegun Obasanjo and stop attacking his benefactor.
Oyinlola stated this on Saturday in reaction to a recent interview by George where he described Obasanjo’s Coalition for Nigeria Movement as a deceit and waste of time while attacking its promoters.

Obasanjo Playing Politics With Letter To Buhari – Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of playing politics with his recent open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.


Tinubu said this on Friday when he spoke with newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital, on his was to Awka, the Anambra State capital, for the burial of former Vice President Alex Ekwueme.

Breaking: FG, APC Reply Obasanjo + Full Letters

The Federal Government and the All Progressives Congress have replied former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the criticism of President Muhammadu Buhari and the party.

Obasanjo had on Tuesday released a letter in which he asked Buhari not to seek reelection as he had failed woefully and called for a coalition to replace the APC as the party and the Peoples Democratic Party have not lived up to billing.

Obasanjo To Buhari On 2019: Go Home And Rest

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Tuesday told President Muhammadu Buhari not to consider seeking reelection in 2019.

Rather, Obasanjo told Buhari to head back home to Daura, Katsina State to take a rest.

The former president said these and more in a letter he wrote to Buhari, titled: “The Way Out: A Clarion Call for Coalition for Nigeria Movement.”

He said Buhari had performed far below expectation and should honourably “dismount from the horse”.

Corruption: Obasanjo hits Nigerian churches, pastors

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has accused some church leaders in the country of not only encouraging corruption but also celebrating people with questionable sources of wealth.
He said this in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday at the 2017 Convention Lecture of Victory Life Bible Church International, while speaking on the theme, ‘The role of the church in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.’
He stated that the fight against corruption must start within the church.

Fayose to Obasanjo: Return my N10m donation to your library project


Ado-Ekiti-The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose continued his verbal onslaught against former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Monday, as he demanded immediate return of  his N10 million donation to his library project  with interest.



Fayose, who described the library project as one of the greatest fraud ever,  said  the 30 governors under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were compelled to donate N10m each in 2005 to the multibillion naira project. The was just as the PDP Southwest caucus passed a confidence of vote in the leadership of the Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee, branding the Ali Modu Sheriff group as mere usurpers of the party’s structure.

Obasanjo is grandfather of corruption in Nigeria – Reps

For describing the National Assembly as being peopled by a gang of unarmed robbers, the House of Representatives has lashed out at ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, calling him the grandfather of corruption.
The Reps described Obasanjo as the most corrupt Nigerian that ever held a public office, adding that he, however, saw himself as the only clean human being.

Reduce wastages, merge MDAs, Obasanjo tells govs

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged governors in the 36 states of the federation to reduce the cost of governance in their various domains by merging ineffective Ministries, Departments and Agencies with viable ones.
This, he said, should be part of measures to make them economically buoyant, given the current economic downturn in the country.

I planned to make vehicles run on gas – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday said his intention during his regime was to develop the nation’s natural gas for vehicles to use and reduce dependence on imported petrol.
Obasanjo said he gave out licences to companies in a bid to achieve this, adding that by now, 50 per cent of the vehicles in the country should have been running on gas.
