LASTMA DISOWNS INVOLVEMENT IN OJODU TRUCK ACCIDENT – GENERAL MANAGER

The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA has debunked viral online insinuation over the truck that rammed into some School Students at Grammar School, along Ogunnusi road in Ojodu area was caused by officials of the agency.

Olajide Oduyoye, has said that the officer whose video trended on Instagram yesterday, Friday, 4th June, 2021, will certainly face the laid down disciplinary measures in line with the extant rules and regulations of the Lagos State Civil Service owing to his unfounded and untrue operational comments he shared with supposed traffic offenders in the video, in order to extort the driver of the vehicle that was apprehended by his superior.

The police detectives attached to Maroko Division of the Lagos State Police Command on Thursday 1st April, 2021 arrested one Nurah Muazu, m, 31, at Aboki Estate, Marwa Lekki, who is alleged to be the receiver of the One-Chance robbery suspects arrested by the officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority on Thursday at Lekki  Area of the State while on duty.

Lagos condemns murder of LASTMA official

The Lagos State Government on Friday condemned the murder of an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Surajudeen Bakare, on Thursday in Apapa area of the state.

The Acting Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Adebayo Anofiu Eleguishi, said at a news conference that Bakare was a victim of jungle justice.

He said, “The late Bakare was killed by some people who have forcefully taken over the roads to flout rules and regulations and take laws into their own hands.”

Mob kills LASTMA commander over motor boy’s death

There was pandemonium in the Liverpool, Apapa area of Lagos on Thursday after an irate mob lynched a commander of the Lagos State Transport Management Agency, Mr. Bakare Olatunji.

It was learnt that Olatunji, who was the zonal head of the agency in the Apapa area, had led a team of officials to the area in a patrol van to arrest erring motorists at about 11am.

PUNCH Metro gathered that tanker drivers, who parked their vehicles on the road fled on sighting the enforcement agents.
