Ambode’s Name Excluded From Lagos Governor Advisory Council List …See Amended GAC Members Names

Barely a year after the highest advisory political organ of Lagos chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), banned Internal groups within the party, the council has adjusted the membership list with the immediate past governor of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode, missing out from the new membership composition.

Lagos APC primary: Sanwo-Olu fires back at Ambode over fraud, drug abuse claims

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a Lagos governorship aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has responded to claims made by the state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, during his world press conference on Sunday.

Sanwo-Olu, in a statement sent to DAILY POST, called for respect and insisted that “my pursuit of office will continue to be based upon issues that matter to Lagosians and not on attacks against someone’s character, even when he attack mine”.

Lagos Targets 2m Passengers On Water Daily As Ambode Unveils Three Executive Boats

The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Sunday commissioned three newly acquired executive boats by the State Government, with a pledge to fully explore the tourism and economic potentials of the waterways in the State for the overall benefit of the people.

Speaking at the unveiling of the boats at Caverton Jetty in the Civic Centre area of Victoria Island, the Governor said the State Government was committed to the implementation of the integrated transport management system designed to scale up water, rail and land transportation.


Ambode said the grand plan is to divert at least two million passengers on the waterways daily, thereby reducing traffic on the road.

He said the boats and four Jet Skis recently acquired by the State Government to ensure safety and fight crime on the waterways were prelude to major plans to fully activate the potentials of water transportation, while in coming months the State Government would take delivery of additional seven commercial ferries, among other plans for the sector.

Ambode calls for support to curb activities of quack medical personnel

Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Monday urged doctors to support the government in curbing the activities of quack medical personnel to save lives and revive the healthcare system. Ambode made the plea at the Induction Ceremony for the 11th Set of Medical Doctors and the Unveiling of the Roll of Honour, Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) in Lagos.

Govt gives Lagosians till Dec. 16 to pay taxes

The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service says all taxpayers that have yet to fulfil their obligation have between December 1 and 16, 2016, to remit overdue taxes and levies to avoid prosecution.
The Executive Chairman of LIRS, Mr. Ayodele Subair, on Wednesday stated that the agency had, in the last few months, embarked on massive advocacy and enlightenment programmes, educating Lagos taxpayers on the laws bordering on tax administration and the benefits of paying taxes as and when due.

Lagos Health Insurance Scheme begins 2017 – Ambode

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday said the much awaited Health Insurance Scheme of the State would commence in early 2017, expressing readiness to partner with key players in the sector to use insurance to grow the Gross Domestic Product of Lagos.
