As reactions begin to come in as an aftermath of the LG/LCDA elections in Lagos today as earlier covered by Oki Samson of Trek Africa Newspaper, the Chairman on House Committee for Finance, Federal House of Representatives, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke has described the elections ‘peaceful, slow and steady’.
He said this as he cast his votes at polling unit 021A along Olaleke Taiwo street 2, Ward 2 Ojodu/Agidingbi/Omole of Ojodu earlier today.
The federal lawmaker however noted about the low voter turnout, ‘It is the pattern of elections recently. People tend to come out later.
You usually see them troop out when it is nearing the closing time.
Some of those boys that we see playing football around may not be registered voters. Some are not even 18 years old yet.’
On his expectations for his political party All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Faleke said: ‘My expectation is that APC will win 100%.
There are no challenges. We have exercised our rights and everyone has their choice to make.
We have filed out to vote for our own party and we are very optimistic that it will turn out in our favour.’
It is noted that elections are being conducted in the 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas all over Lagos state to choose chairmen and councillors in the government heralded to be the closest to the people.
