Obasanjo distances self from Nigeria's restructuring, gives reasons

- Olusegun Obasanjo says what Nigeria needs now is not restructuring of the country but that of individual mentality.

- He claimed he is not in support of restructuring agitation.

- The former president however called on Nigerians to understand their country.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has distanced himself from ongoing calls for the country's restructuring by some Nigerians home and abroad.

CBN to approve Cryptocurrency & Blockchain Technology

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) sequel to setting up of an industry committee to look into and articulate a road map for Blockchain & Cryptocurrency regulation has reiterated that it will not hinder the use of digital currencies in Nigeria.  
The regulator in a recent brief with industry experts stated that an agreement has been reached to formally adopt its use in Nigeria.

"I WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN” – OLUSEGUN OBASANJO

Former President Olusegun Obansanjo has said he wants to go to heaven and longs to sing among the heavenly host.
Speaking on Saturday at the Apostolic Faith Church Camp Meeting Concert in Ogun State, Obasanjo said:
“You have to be fully prepared for the second coming of our Lord, there is no compromise.
“I have a friend who will always say that when we get to heaven, we will be exhausted praising God and it will be like a prison and very boring.

Gunmen strike in Anambra, kill worshippers in Church

Gunmen on Sunday stormed the St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra.
An eyewitness told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday that the gunmen went into the church during the 5:45 a.m. mass and identified a particular man and shot him.
He said that they later went on rampage and shot at the remaining worshippers numbering over 100.

Fayemi didn’t embezzle Ekiti SUBEB funds – Panel

A report of a five-man panel set up by Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, to investigate the withdrawal of N852 million 2012 UBEC/SUBEB state counterpart fund has revealed that former Governor Kayode Fayemi did not embezzle the cash as alleged by his successor.
The panel in its report dated December 3, 2015 revealed that the cash was withdrawn from the account of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) by Access Bank, Ado-Ekiti Branch, because “the last administration did not perfect the loan agreements with its failure to approve the agreed interest rate and providing Irrevocable Standing Payment Order (ISPO) for the loan.”

Gunmen abduct Ikeja council clerk, demand N20m

Gunmen on Wednesday morning kidnapped the Ikeja Local Government Clerk, Shamsideen Abiodun Omotayo.
Omotayo was whisked away at Imota, Ikorodu, while on his way to work, spokesman for the local council secretariat, Bello Onilegbale said.
EFCC launches probe
Vice-Chancellors of some Federal universities collected over N480, 000 as furniture allowance monthly, National Universities Commission (NUC) chief  Abubakar Rasheed has said.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is probing financial irregularities levelled against some of the Vice Chancellors and Bursars of federal universities.
Prof. Rasheed broke the news at a workshop on economic recovery and growth for bursars of Federal universities yesterday in Abuja.

He accused some of the VCs of financial irregularities, flouting financial regulations and non-compliance with university regulations, especially extant federal circulars emanating from government agencies.

FG makes NIN mandatory for passport issuance from 2018

The Federal Government Tuesday said that with effect from January 2018, Nigerians seeking for International Passport must be holders of the electronic National Identity Card which has the National Identity Number (NIN).
This was disclosed by the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Mohammed Babadede while speaking with State House correspondents after a meeting of the National Identity Management Harmonization committee at the State House, Abuja.
The Federal Government in 2014 had ordered all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and security organizations involved in all forms of biometric data capture of Nigerians to complete their registrations and handover to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

Davido's Father Goes To Prisons

Nigerian billionaire, Deji Adeleke was at the Ilesha and Ile-Ife prisons where he distributed beddings and cash to prisons inmates.

Davido is a giver. That is a known fact, but now we know that his heart of gold runs in the blood.

The inmates at the medium security prisons at Ilesha and Ile Ife in Osun state have had cause to smile after a rare visit by Davido’s father, Dr. Deji Adeleke who is one of Nigeria’s richest men.

When Baba Olowo visits, there is expected to be a rain of goodies and he did not disappoint.

He did this under the canopy of his non-governmental organisation, Springtime Development Foundation.

CNN Mocks Nigeria over Buhari’s Continued Absence in Country

The United States television medium, Cable News Network, CNN, has mocked Nigeria in its latest edition of “The Global Public Square (GPS)”, a foreign affairs show anchored on CNN by Fareed Zakaria, Vanguard reports.

In an apparent mockery of Nigeria and her President Muhammadu Buhari, CNN, on its programme displayed at 4:59pm local time on Sunday said, “The head of state from which country has not set foot in his homeland in over two months?”
