Mega Party: Members may settle for ADP as a name

AHEAD of 2018 Presidential election, political intrigues and realignment are beginning to shape the political scene, with moves by politicians to form a mega party. Vanguard gathered weekend that barring any last minute change, politicians and conveners of the new political party drawn from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC, were already fine tuning the name for the new party.

Pen Letter from Sergey Mavrodi to the Nigerian Authorities

Honorable authorities,

So far MMM has come under a constant attack from you. In this regard, I would like to ask you a few simple questions. Since you are concerned with the interests of millions of your fellow citizens, I hope that  you would be so kind to answer them.

1. What are you trying to get? Do you want the MMM System to collapse and millions of people to suffer? Who will support them then if now MMM is their only means of livelihood? Will you? You even don’t pay wages to people? Or might you not care about them? Might you be using a trendy topic to make a good name for yourselves? What will you say to a mother who will have no money to buy food for her child? Will you let her child die for the sake of the higher interests of the economy?

Super Falcons as Federal Government’s albatross

The Aso Villa Chapel was always a beehive of activities during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. I featured activities in the worship centre many times in this column during that administration.
When members were not celebrating Fathers’ Day, they would be marking Mothers’ Day or other Christian festivities with fanfare. Many people would be falling on one another with the sole purpose of attracting the attention of the then President, his wife and many other powerful men in the government.

Human life no longer has value in Nigeria – NBA

Mr. Mahmoud Abubakar
The Nigerian Bar Association says it is worried over the level of human rights violations in the country.
According to the NBA, with insurgency, militancy and extrajudicial killings going on, it appears as if human life no longer has value in Nigeria.
It said the situation was particularly worrisome because the Federal Government, whose primary obligation is to secure the lives and property of Nigerians, appeared to be failing in this responsibility.
