Coronavirus suspect dies in Omole Estate, Lagos

Residents of Omole Estate, Phase II, Lagos are now in perpetual fear following the death of a patient suspected to have died of Coronavirus.
Report said the patient who presents with Coronavirus symptoms was rushed to the Primary Healthcare Centre in the area, and that there was no ambulance from the NCDC and the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) to evacuate her to the Infectious Disease Centre, Yaba.
She was said to have been returned to her residence in a tricycle where she eventually died.

Coronavirus: Nursing Mother, Infant Among Patients Discharged – Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has revealed that a nursing mother and her infant were among the four people who recently recovered from coronavirus (COVID-19).
They were part of the new four patients released from the Infectious Disease Centre (IDC) Yaba on Friday.
Giving an address on Friday, Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed that the people discharged from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital included a male and three females.

I did not donate N1 billion to COVID-19 fund — Obi

Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the last Presidential  elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has dismissed reports making the rounds in social media circles that he donated a billion Naira to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) relief fund.
“I have not donated to the fund,” Obi said in a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon by his Media Office and signed by Mr. Valentine Obienyem.
Reacting to the list of purported donors to the fund, which has gone viral, in which his name appears as number 33 and a billion Naira indicated as the amount he has allegedly donated, Obi said the issue at hand was “so scary and of great importance to the world, especially our dear country, to be tainted by any manner of fake news.” He implored purveyors of fake news to desist from that.

Coronavirus: Over 2,000 Persons Have Been Tested – Health Minister

The Minister for Health, Dr Osagie Ohanire, has announced that over 2,000 persons have been tested so far for the COVID-19 disease in the country.
Ehanire, who spoke during a live briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja on Wednesday, said Lagos State had led the way in providing bed space capacity for isolation and treatment, adding that other state governments needed to follow suit.

68-year-old Nigerian doctor dies of COVID-19 in UK

Alfa Sa’adu, a doctor of Nigerian origin who lives in the United Kingdom, has died of the coronavirus.

Sa’adu, 68, who is also the galadima of Pategi in Kwara state, died of complications from the disease on Tuesday.
Aisha Ahman-Pategi, Kwara state commissioner for chieftaincy affairs, confirmed his demise to TheCable.

COVID-19: Give Nigerians One-Month Free Subscription, Keyamo Urges DSTV, MTN, Others

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has asked direct broadcast satellite service providers in Nigeria to support the fight against COVID-19 by giving Nigerians an extension on their current subscription. 
In a series of tweets on Monday, Keyamo pleaded with DSTV and Star Times to extend existing subscriptions by one month.

BREAKING: US Commence Evacuation of Citizens From Nigeria Over Coronavirus

The United States Mission in Nigeria has announced the commencement of evacuation of its citizens from Nigeria.
This is happening after Germany, Israel, and France evacuated their nationals following the rising cases of coronavirus disease in the country.
The Embassy confirmed the development Monday night on its official Twitter handle, @US Mission Nigeria.
