Coronavirus Cases May Rise To 39,000 In Lagos State – Health Commissioner

Commissioner for Health in Lagos State, Akin Abayomi has said coronavirus cases in the state may rise to 39,000.
Abayomi at a briefing on Friday urged people to adhere to the social distancing advice of the state government to check the spread of the disease.
He said, “Our mathematical modelling shows that the worst-case scenario is that we may see up to 39,000 cases in Lagos, but if everyone practices good social distancing, the figure will be limited to 13,000.

Coronavirus: President Buhari Approves Immediate Release Of N15bn To Lagos, NCDC

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate release of N15 billion to the Lagos State government and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to help curb the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country.
In a series of tweets on Thursday via his official page, the President revealed that the approval followed the extensive briefings he received recently on the state of the nation, as it relates to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He ordered that the sum of N10 billion grant be immediately released to Lagos State to boost the government’s capacity to control and contain the outbreak, as well as support other states with capacity-building.

Coronavirus: UBA Donates N5bn To Relief Effort

United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) has donated over N5bn ($14 million) through the UBA Foundation, to catalyze a comprehensive pan-African response to the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic.

EFCC uncovers 35 ‘illegal’ betting operators

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday said it has uncovered 35 lottery operators allegedly doing business without core licenses and permits.
It stated this in a series of tweets posted via its verified Twitter handle on Thursday afternoon.
The commission said the discoveries followed an attempt to end tax fraud in the lottery business, adding that only 21 operators and 18 firms were licensed by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC).

Two new cases of the COVID-19 have been confirmed in Nigeria.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday announced this via their Twitter handle, increasing the confirmed cases in the country to 46.

Confirmed Cases Of Coronavirus In Nigeria Rise To 44

Two new cases of COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus, have been confirmed in Nigeria.
One of the new cases was confirmed in Abuja and another in Bauchi State.
According to the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the cases have travel history to Germany and the UK
Governor Bala Mohammed is the confirmed case in Bauchi State.
