When was the first time you knew you wanted to do music?

I think I have always wanted to do music from when I was a young boy. I used to have an area group in Kano, and we used to do Apala music from door-to-door. I actually thought I was going to become a Fuji star.

My first wife left me, says Yemi Solade

There is no gainsaying the fact that actor, Yemi Solade, has a beautiful wife. His better half used to be an actress known as Hannah Marsh, and a lot has been written about their union. 90-year-old Queen Elizabeth misses second church service with heavy cold

Queen Elizabeth II will not attend a New Year’s Day church service because of a lingering “heavy cold” that also forced her to stay at home on Christmas Day, Buckingham Palace said Sunday.

The 90-year-old monarch, who is the supreme governor of the Church of England, will not join other members of the royal family as they attend church in Sandringham in Norfolk, eastern England.

Woman kills husband over Christmas food

While Nigerians were celebrating Christmas in their homes, a housewife, Christiana Odo, allegedly killed her husband, Rominus, for failing to provide money for the family during the celebration.

Fun seekers in the early hours of Monday scampered to safety after armed robbers stormed the Calabar Christmas Village while a popular Nigerian musician, Daniel Anidugbe, aka Kiss Daniel, was performing.

PUNCH Metro learnt on Monday that the robbers, whose numbers could not be ascertained, stormed the village at about 1am and shot repeatedly into the air while dispossessing people of their valuables.

It could not be confirmed if anyone was killed in the incident, but it was learnt that several people were stabbed.

Benin residents keep vigil in banks to use ATMs

Barely 24 hours to Christmas, residents of Benin city are keeping vigil in the banks to use Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).

Few of the ATMs in some banks visited in Benin on Saturday were dispensing cash.

Many of the residents said that they had been in some of the banks as early as 5a.m.to avoid the crowd that would arrive in the bank premises later.
