Editor’s note: Ishaku Abdul’rahman Mohammed, a man who converted to Christianity, writes open letter to Christians. The author calls them “senseless” and advises not to be lured with to change their religion. In the first letter the author narrates about the ways of Islamisation agenda in Nigeria. INEC messing up democracy, says Fayose

Ambassadorial nominees unable to recite national anthem, pledge

The Senate on Tuesday began the screening of the 47 ambassadorial nominees sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari for legislative approval.

Buhari had on June 9 sent to the Senate 47 names of Nigerians to be screened and confirmed as career diplomats.

The President, in the letter personally signed by him and dated June 6, 2016, requested the Senate to approve the list at the shortest possible time.

Reduce wastages, merge MDAs, Obasanjo tells govs

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged governors in the 36 states of the federation to reduce the cost of governance in their various domains by merging ineffective Ministries, Departments and Agencies with viable ones.

This, he said, should be part of measures to make them economically buoyant, given the current economic downturn in the country.
