LAGFERRY DONATES 100 LIFE JACKETS TO LSSTF

The Lagos Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) has donated 100 life jackets to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) as part of efforts to ensure security and safety on the Lagos Inland Waterways.

Speaking during the presentation of the life jackets at the LSSTF office in Ikeja, the Managing Director, LAGFERRY, Mr. Abdoulbaq Balogun, represented by the Head of Administrative and Human Resources, Mrs. Bunmi Mofunlewi, stated that the materials were donated to the Marine Police, through the LSSTF, to strengthen law enforcement and safety on the waterways.

His words: “The core responsibility of the Ferry Services, which is moving people on the waterways, will be greatly hampered when there is insecurity.

The donation of the life jackets to the Marine Police is to further support the personnel, who are doing a great job patrolling the Lagos waterways day and night”.

Balogun expressed LAGFERRY’s preparedness to partner with the LSSTF in any area that is beneficial to the good people of the State, particularly for those within the terminals/jetties using the waterways to commute daily.

Receiving the materials, the Executive Secretary and CEO, LSSTF, Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, thanked LAGFERRY for the donation and promised to use the items for enhanced security on the Lagos waterways.

He said: “The Trust Fund, as an interventionist safety agency, has been showing commitment to improving Lagos security for the past 15 years.

It currently has about 27 gunboats patrolling the Lagos Inland Waterways”.

While pleading for more support from LAGFERRY for the Marine Police, the Executive Secretary called on other agencies and corporate organisations to donate and show more support to the Trust Fund.
