Gun violence plagues America. From the roadside, to alleyways and schools, America's gun attacks have become common and Americans are learning to live with the menace.
In fact, it is so bad that in March 2018 alone, more than 100 shooting cases have been reported across the country.
On Monday, US local media reported that a nine-year-old boy shot dead his 13-year-old sister in the southern US state of Mississippi following an argument about a video game controller.
The tragedy took place Saturday when the girl refused to give up the controller, Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said according to reports. The boy then opened fire, striking his sister in the back of the head, reports AFP citing US local media.
The bullet pierced through the girl’s brain, and she was taken to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, in critical condition. She died on Sunday.
An investigation was opened to determine how the young boy had access to a firearm and to what extent he was aware of the danger.
