President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday held a secret meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Tambuwal, who is a former Speaker of the House, came with Dogara in one vehicle to the forecourt of the Presidential Villa where they spent about an hour in the President’s office.
When they were approached by journalists after the meeting, they declined to speak on the purpose of the meeting.
While Dogara kept mute, Tambuwal parried most of the questions from the journalists.
On whether the meeting had to do with the House of Representatives, Tambuwal said, “Not at all.”
Asked if it had to do with the recession and sale of assets, he replied the journalists with: “I have already aired my views on the sale of assets.”
When he was asked if the meeting had anything to do with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, he said, “I don’t know about that.
Tambuwal said they only came to give Buhari support.
