Is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student.
After being questioned by detectives this week, the teen said that the 26-year-old Towers had struck up their relationship with a kiss while he was being tutored one-on-one.
A statement from the school’s superintendent said that Towers only worked as an aide at the school until February, though court documents list the offenses on March 17.
Her lawyer told Philly.com that she had been assisting the girls softball team at the time of the accusations, but resigned this week.
Towers coached a number of girls sports at the school, which said that it did not have information about any other students being romantically involved with her.
The allegations are the second scandal at the school (pictured) this year, after three seniors were charged with sodomizing a freshman.
She was released on bail after being arraigned Thursday morning.
The teacher’s supposed conduct is not the first scandal to hit the suburban high school this year.
Last month three senior players on the varsity football team were charged with assault for allegedly sodomizing a freshman with a broom handle on “No Gay Thursdays,” according toABC6.
Prosecutors alleged oter other harassment including older students forcing underclassmen to undress and upperclassmen putting their genitals on their younger peers.
The team's coac resigned after the accusations.
