Tricycle operator, friend arrested for stealing goat

The Police in Okpanam Community in Delta State on Thursday arrested a tricycle (Keke) Operator, John Okolie and his friend, Peter Egbo for allegedly stealing a goat.

The suspects stole the goat from the owner’s compound during the night and made attempt to sell it to an hotelier in Asaba when nemesis caught up with them, a witness said.

After stealing the goat, the suspects put the goat in the tricycle and were heading to Asaba where they wanted to sell it to the buyer when operatives of Nigerian Police Force and Asaba Community Vigilante Group caught them.

The eye witness, Nkem Okafor said that the suspects had contacted the buyer on the telephone but when they were accosted by the security operatives, they could not give satisfactory explanation about how the goat came into their possession.

Confirming the arrest of the suspects, the chairman of Asaba Vigilante Outfit, Nnamdi Chukwuedo said the suspects were arrested and handed over to the Police for further investigation.
