Churches not involved in stomach infrastructure are unfair to their members – Primate Ayodele

Elijah Ayodele
Elijah Ayodele, Founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has taken a swipe on Churches in Nigeria that do not do enough to alleviate the sufferings of their members.
He spoke during Sunday service at the Church’s Oke-Afa branch in Isolo.

According to him, it is sad that although many Churches receive donations worth billions, they find it hard to give to the less-privileged in their congregation.

“There are many men of God, but it is only God that knows the genuine ones. I do not know. But all I know is that it is unfair to have and not give remarkably,” he said.

“Here, as much as our power can carry, we provide foodstuff, clothing materials, money, work tools and other items to our members at regular intervals.

“About 20 people we presented during service today will in a matter of days receive money to start up or grow their businesses.

“Even Muslims are welcome. Year in year out, we send people to Jerusalem and Mecca from our pocket and sometimes with assistance of our helpers.”

“I have lost the amount of millions we have spent on hundreds of Nigerians because this Church gives ceaselessly.

“Imagine if others did same and more for those who find it hard to fend for themselves, the Church would have contributed greatly in boosting Nigeria’s economy and reducing poverty.”

The service was attended by Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Dr (Mrs) Modupe Alade, who represented Governor Ayo Fayose.

Noting that her boss made the stomach infrastructure concept popular, Alade advised public office holders to always take care of the people because whatever position they attained was through the electorate.

“My Governor wanted to be here but he is in Bayelsa for the swearing-in of Governor Dickson.

“He is a man who relates with his people everyday; he sees them as family and friends and that is why he is loved.”

She thanked Ayodele for standing by Fayose during his “tribulations”.

Alade, who presented keys to tricycles and commercial cars Ayodele purchased for some members of his congregation to be self-sufficient, urged Nigerians to continue to pray for religious and political leaders.

She hinted that Governor Fayose will continue to assist the Church in its efforts at providing for the needy and also consider Ayodele’s appeal for sponsorship of some members to pilgrimage in Jerusalem and Mecca this year.
