New VC laments ABSU’s poor academic ranking

The new Vice Chancellor of Abia State University, ABSU, Uturu, Prof. Uche Ikonne has decried the university’s poor ranking, which he said is at a low ebb and vowed to enhance the national and international ranking of the university.
Addressing the management, academic and non-academic staff members of the University at the institution’s auditorium, Prof. Ikonne  lamented that the status of the univerity in national and international ranking was not cheerful.
“The ranking of universities by the national and international community underscores this point and it’s a veritable index for measuring the achievements of any or successive university administrations”, the new Vice Chancellor said.
