The Federal Government has declared December 24, 25, 28 as public holidays to mark the Maulud Nabiy, Christmas Day and Boxing Day respectively.
The Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), said this in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Bassey Akpanyung, on Tuesday.
The statement read, “The Federal Government has declared Thursday, December 24, 2015 as public holiday to mark the Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
Friday, 25th and Monday 28th December, 2015, have also been declared as public holidays to mark Christmas and Boxing Day celebration.”
Dambazau advised Muslims and Christians to use the unique occasion to pray for the peace and unity of Nigeria.
