Fashola assumes duty as Minister amid loud cheers from workers

The new Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, on Wednesday assumed duty immediately after the inauguration of the federal cabinet by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Fashola was welcomed into the Federal Secretariat by rousing ovation from the staff of the ministry.

He stepped into his office at about 3.15 p.m.
Guardian reports that Fahola was ushered into the office by Mrs Grace Papka, the Director in charge of Human Resources of the ministry.

He held a private meeting with the directors in the ministry.

Minister of state for Power, Works and Housing, Alhaji Mustapha Shehuri, also arrived at the complex where he joined Fashola and the directors at the meeting.
