An unidentified woman and her child were killed when a driver lost control of an articulated vehicle at the busy Oja Oba market in Ibadan on Tuesday.
About four of the tricycles were mangled by the impact of the collision with one of them badly burnt by ensuing fire.

Court orders tenant to pay N900,000 rent arrears

A Wuse Zone 2 Chief Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, on Tuesday ordered one Baba Garba to pay N900,000 rent arrears to Larix Properties Limited.
The Senior Magistrate, Teribo Jim, gave the order after listening to the submissions of Hadiza Zarma, counsel to Larix Properties.

A journalist, variously known as a reporter or editor, remains with that tag for life even if he ventures into any other profession.

One of the main tenets of journalism is credibility. A journalist or media house must be credible, reliable and trustworthy. The news from a credible media house is regarded as the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. When the reading public starts doubting the authenticity of news published by a media house, such a medium is slowly inching its way into oblivion or extinction.

Scientists grow mouse eggs from stem cells

Japanese scientists said Monday they had grown mouse eggs entirely in the lab, then fertilised them to yield fertile offspring, a scientific first cautiously hailed by experts in human reproduction.
The technique – which involved coaxing stem cells into becoming mature eggs – was still much too risky and controversial to be reproduced in humans, commentators said.
