Overthrow of Buhari: IBB promoted indiscipline among soldiers, says Bamaiyi

A former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi (retd.), has blamed a former military dictator, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd.), for the indiscipline in the armed forces.

Bamaiyi, in his new book, Vindication of a General, said a former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd.), was the first Nigerian leader to encounter the problem of indiscipline in the armed forces.

BREAKING: Senate approves $500m Eurobond request by President Buhari

Senate on Wednesday has approved the sum of $500million eurobond meant to finance 2016 budget deficit.

The approval was after two hours closed door session.

Moving the motion, Deputy Senate Leader, Bala Ibn N’allah explained that time was against the 2016 budget, adding that it would be disastrous for nation for any delay.

Doctor stops on Third Mainland bridge, jumps into lagoon [PHOTO]

Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) on Sunday said it received a distress call of a man who committed suicide on Third Mainland Bridge.

The agency said the individual parked his grey coloured Nissan SUV with registration number LND 476 EE at about 4.50 pm before Adekunle, inward 3rd Mainland bridge and jumped into the Lagos Lagoon.

Police detains Peace Corps boss, Dickson Akoh again

The Nigeria Police, on Sunday, detained the National Commandant of Peace Corps of Nigeria, Amb. (Dr.) Dickson Akoh.

Akoh, who had just arrived Abuja from where he has been receiving traditional treatment for ulcer and pile, decided to turn himself in, at the FCT Command of the Nigeria police, after been told that the police were looking for him.

A source at the Commandant headquarters disclosed that, Akoh arrived at about 5.40pm, where he had a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID, officer in charge of the SARS and DC of SARS.

Civilians who wear military camouflage will be jailed – Army

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, has warned civilians against wearing military camouflage.

Usman stated this in a recent interview with Punch.

He said such offence attracted a one-month prison term.
