How I took Osun Varsity girl to herbalist for N10,000

A herbalist, simply identified as Jelili, and a commercial driver, Elijah Oyebode, are helping the Department of State Services, DSS, Osun State Command, on what led to the alleged kidnapping and killing of a 400 Level student of Osun State University, Osogbo, Adebisi Rofiat Damilola.
It would be recalled that Rofiat, who left Ipetu-Ijesa for Osogbo on December 22, 2016 got missing along the way and her corpse was later found on the roadside along Ikirun/Iragbiji road few days after.

CAN, PFN hail Obazee’s removal, want controversial code discarded

THE Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, yesterday, called on the Federal Government to completely discard the controversial corporate governance code of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, FRCN, warning against any attempt to weaken the church of God in the country.

Reacting to the measures taken so far by the government on the implementation of the code that had stirred up controversies in the country, General Secretary of CAN, Rev. Musa Asake, hailed the removal of FRCN Executive Secretary, Mr. Jim Obazee. Asake, who spoke to newsmen in Abuja, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for quickly reacting to the matter before it degenerated, said: “The sack of Jim is good riddance to bad rubbish. Anybody that wants to fight the church will find himself where he does not want.

Olubadan sacks Baale, intervenes in traders’ dispute

The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, said on Tuesday that he would soon set up a committee to look into the crisis rocking the Ibadan Market Traders Association under the leadership of Iyaloja of Ibadan land, Chief Labake Lawal.


The Olubadan also announced the removal of the Baale Oloode in Oluyole council area of Oyo State, Lukman Alao, replacing him with Chief Odeyemi Olayiwola.

Lagos trader tortures nine-year-old boy for stealing

The police have arrested a woman, identified only as Bassey, for allegedly inserting a stick of broom dipped in pepper into the private parts of a nine-year-old boy, identified as Promise, in the Ebute-Meta area of Lagos State.


PUNCH Metro learnt that Bassey had accused the victim, who was her nephew, of stealing N2,000.
Forcing him to confess to the crime, the mother of four allegedly resorted to the extreme measure.

Ex-first ladies spent £32,000 as landing fees –Aisha Buhari

Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the wife of the President Muhammadu Buhari, said on Sunday that £32,000 was spent in the past by the Nigerian High Commission in the United Kingdom as landing fees for private jets of former First Ladies.
He said the money spent on the lounge when she visited the UK was a far cry from what was obtainable during the past administrations.
Mrs. Buhari said this in a statement by her Special Assistant on Media, Adebisi Olumide-Ajayi.

Fire destroys property at Balogun market in Lagos

A seven-storey building known as Brazas Plaza, located at the Balogun market extension in Lagos Island, was on Saturday gutted by fire, destroying goods, valuables and cash worth several millions of Naira.
The incident resulted in gridlock in most parts of the Island, as a large number of traders and passersby besieged the vicinity, to catch a glimpse of the inferno.
