BREAKING NEWS: Senate passes Nigerian Peace Corps Bill

The Senate on Thursday passed the Nigerian Peace Corps Bill into law, thereby giving approval for the establishment of the Nigerian Peace Corps as an agency under the Ministry of Interior.
Presenting the report of the Committee on Interior on the floor of the Senate, the committee chairman, Senator Bayero Nafada urged the Senate to support the passage of the Bill, saying “the organisation will be of great benefit to the Nigerian youths”.

Recession: Ambode slashes prices of Lagos mortgage houses

Due to the economic downturn, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has slashed price regime of houses under Lagos Home Ownership Mortgage Scheme, Lagos HOMS, to allow residents apply for the scheme specifically when rent-to-own scheme commence December 9.

Vanguard gathered that the scheme which commenced under the previous administration was yet to be fully subscribed, even with the introduction of raffle and other strategies earlier.

ASUU strike: Students beg FG for quick resolution

Some students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka have appealed to the Federal Government to urgently look into grievances of striking lecturers to forestall incessant strikes in universities.
The students made the appeal in Nsukka on Tuesday while reacting to the ongoing warning strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The President of the Students Union Government in the university, Mr. Emmanuel Chukwu, pleaded with President Muhammad Buhari to urgently resolve the crisis between the Federal Government and ASUU.

Prostitute stabs man who offered to pay for sex with boiled egg

A prostitute in Zimbabwe beat a punter around the head with a beer bottle after he offered to pay for sex with a boiled egg, the DailyMail UK has reported.
Moses Mushonga, 28, walked up to the young lady of the night in the town of Mvurwi in Mashonaland province.
