EFCC seizes 29 properties from three ex-Air Force chiefs

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seized 29 properties from the immediate past Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu; a former Chief of Accounts and Budgeting in NAF, Air Vice Marshal Jacob Adigun (retd.); and a former Director of Finance and Budget, Air Commodore Olugbenga Gbadebo (retd.).
No fewer than 11 properties were seized from Amosu; 12 were seized from Adigun and six from Gbadebo.

Tension in Borno as Buhari seeks explanation on malnourished, dying IDPs

There has been panic among Borno officials ahead of a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.

Despite making several pledges to pay, ConOil and other companies owned by Mr. Adenuga have reneged on paying the debts, multiple sources in the oil and gas sector have told this newspaper.

How smugglers attack, kill Nigeria Customs officials – Comptroller

The Comptroller of Customs in Ogun, Waindu Multafu, has described details of how customs officials are attacked and in some cases killed by smugglers.

Mr. Multafu, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, said the agency makes “seizures every day,” from smugglers
“Once in a while, if it happens that we are on the defensive, we have to use our guns,” he said on Sunday.

Avengers reply Buhari, demand referendum

THE  Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, yesterday, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to call for a referendum for Nigerians to decide if they want to stay as one country or not, just like Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK),  David Cameron, did over the UK membership of the European Union EU.

NDA, which unveiled its plan for what it called a Sovereign State of Niger Delta, on May 12, made the call while reacting to last Friday’s appeal by Buhari to Niger Delta militants, in God’s name, to cease the bombing of oil and gas installations in the region. The militant group, in separate  responses to    Sunday Vanguard inquiries at 2.04 pm and 2.56 pm respectively, yesterday, said:
