People making money out of our grief – Chibok parents

Some parents of the missing Chibok girls have alleged that  some people have been making money out of them.
This disclosure is coming against the backdrop of complaints by parents that their advocates were not being accountable to those of them still living in Chibok and its surrounding villages.

Man Beats Wife & Daughter With Cutlass In Uganda, Chase Them Around In Pants (Photos)

This horrific incident happened in Uganda. An angry middle aged man was filmed viciously beating his wife and daughter in a village in the East African country.

He started by beating his wife but turned to his daughter when she used a stone to hit him to get him to stop beating her mum.

Every other person, including able-bodied men just stood there and watched as he attacked two women with a cutlass. How sad! See more photos below…

Microsoft to buy LinkedIn for $26 billion

In one of the biggest tech mergers of all time, Microsoft said Monday that it's buying LinkedIn in a deal valued at $26.2 billion.
It's not coming cheap.
Microsoft (MSFTTech30) is paying $196 per share. That's 50% more than LinkedIn stock's closing price at the end of the day on Friday.

Forget the 2016 budget; it’s no longer realistic

The news report then went on to mention various individuals making the suggestion. It is the sort of report which makes one to wonder if it is intended to be taken seriously or as a joke.

But then, one is reminded of the Hubert Humphrey, 1911-1978, late Vice President of the United States, who in Madison, Wisconsin, on August 23, 1965, left the world with the gem: “The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.”

500,000 teachers’ recruitment portal crashes on day one

The recruitment of 500,000 teachers by the Federal Government might have run into a hitch as the website for the exercise crashed on Sunday following what was suspected to be massive applications by prospective candidates.
The Federal Government had, last week, announced that the recruitment of the teachers would commence on Sunday, directing interested Nigerians to apply through http://portal.npower.gov.ng.

I planned to make vehicles run on gas – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday said his intention during his regime was to develop the nation’s natural gas for vehicles to use and reduce dependence on imported petrol.
Obasanjo said he gave out licences to companies in a bid to achieve this, adding that by now, 50 per cent of the vehicles in the country should have been running on gas.
