YULETIDE: BAN ON FIRE WORKS STILL IN FORCE IN DELTA - CP ALI

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali has warned parents and families to ensure that their wards and youths did not violate the extant laws prohibiting the use of fireworks before, during and after the festive season.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) on Thursday by the Command's Spokesperson, DSP Edafe Bright stated that, "The Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, PSC(+) has announced that the ban on the use of fireworks is still in force and that the Command will enforce all the extant laws prohibiting the use of fireworks such as ‘knock-out’, ‘banger’ etc especially during this Yuletide season."

According to Edafe, "Parents/Guardians are advised to guide their children and wards to desist from using them.

Retailers of such goods are equally warned to withdraw from the sales of these products as anyone arrested will be prosecuted."

"To this end, the CP has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police officers and Tactical Commanders to ensure strict compliance with the ban on fireworks in their respective Areas of Responsibility.

Undercover Police Operatives have also been deployed for the purpose of arresting anyone found wanting.

The CP while assuring residents of their safety at all times also call on residents to continue to partner with the Police and other security agencies by providing useful information in their untiring efforts at providing a peaceful and secured environment for the all."
