LSSTF supports security formations for improved security in Lagos

In an interview with the Executive Secretary/CEO of the LSSTF, Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun on the presentation of security equipment recently handed over to the Lagos State Police Command for the enhancement of their operations recently, stated that “the State government is committed to ensuring the security of residents and investors, and has plans to secure the flanks as well as the inner city, by providing critical infrastructure to rev up the security architecture of the state.”

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund, in furtherance of its vision of making Lagos the safest, most secure and most prosperous commercial location in Africa continues to take steps to provide critical security equipment to security operatives in the State.


The most recent is the provision of 50 Patrol vehicles fully fitted with security accessories and “Push-to-talk” (PTT) on cellular communication devices to formations in the Lagos State Police Command. Also the provision of Level 4 Bullet-proof vests and helmets including patrol vehicles to the Rapid Response Squad, and the Task Force towards the of their operations.


The Commissioner of Police Lagos State Police Command Mr. Hakeem Odumosu who took delivery of the donated items, expressed his sincere appreciation to the Fund saying that the equipment will boost the security architecture in the state.


He said that “the vehicles will improve the mobility of the operatives while the PTT on cellular will further make communication amongst the men more seamless especially during operations.

This he stated will go a long way in assisting the command to continue to tackle crime and achieve its goal of reducing crime rate in Lagos.


Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, member Board of Trustees, LSSTF present at the handing over of these items pledged the Fund’s continuous support to security agencies in the State in order to create a secured environment where businesses can thrive.


The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Fund, Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun also reiterated that the repairs, maintenance and procurement of these security equipment are achievable through voluntary donations to the Fund by public institutions, private organizations and other well-meaning individuals.


He therefore used the opportunity to call on Lagosians and corporate entities to come onboard and join the good cause by making donations to the LSSTF for the provision of effective security equipment and other logistics towards the prosperity of Lagos State in our enlightened self-interest.
