In continuation of his familiarization tour of Sister Security Agencies, Mr. Vincent Ogu JP, the Anambra State Commandant of NSCDC today, Wednesday, 7th of July, 2021 visited the Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, the State Controller of Nigeria Correctional Service and the State Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, Anambra State Command.
In his speech at the Federal Road Safety Corps, the NSCDC Commandant, stated that the visit was to introduce himself to the Corps Commander having obtained briefs from his predecessor on the harmonious working relationship existing between both agencies.
He further assured the Sector Commander of the Command's cooperation more than before in partnering with FRSC in crash reduction on the high ways thereby creating a safer motoring environment in the State.
Responding, the Sector Commander, Adeoye Irelewuyi, thanked the NSCDC Commandant for the visit which according to him, will strengthen the existing relationship between FRSC and NSCDC.
He enjoined the State Commandant to continue to lend a helping hand to FRSC as the need arises in ensuring a safer motoring environment in the State.
At the Controller of Corrections office, Mr. Vincent Ogu JP extended his desire to flourish the existing relationship between the NSCDC and NCS.
He informed the Controller that the task of maintaining peace and stability and protection of lives and properties of Ndi Anambra and residents alike in all the nooks and crannies of the state depends largely on harmonious inter-agency relationship among the Security Agencies.
In his response, the Controller, Nigerian Correctional Service, Mr. Chukwuemeka Patrick, fsi, appreciated the efforts of NSCDC in the provision of necessary operational support and joint collaboration to the Service Mr. Patrick who described the inter-agency collaboration among NSCDC and NCS in the State as top-notch, noted that there was always eagerness from one agency to assist the other in achieving the objective of securing the state.
Speaking to the Comptroller of Immigration in his office, Mr Ogu reaffirmed his determination to partner with Immigration Service under the same Ministry of Interior to curb the scourge of human trafficking and smuggling of migrants.
He elaborated the importance of synergy among all the relevant agencies in combating trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants from one source to another through robust Intelligence, networking and synergy.
On his part, the Comptroller of Immigration CIS AD Eche, applouded the familization visit which came at the right time, affirmed that part of their core mandate is dealing with migration management.
He acknowledged that no government agency could enforce migration law all alone, thereby accepting the need for close synergy with NSCDC to achieve maximum result.
Mr Eche said that the collaborative efforts of all the Security Agencies in the state will help to reduce crime to the barest minimum.
The State Commandant was accompanied on the triple visit by some management staff of the Command.
Highlights of the visit were group photographs, exchange of souvenirs and signing of visitors' register.
