POLICE FOIL ARMED ROBBERY, RESCUE KIDNAPPED VICTIM, RECOVER PUMP ACTION GUN, OTHERS

The Delta State Police Command has record another great feat in the fight against armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism among others.

In a press statement by the Command's Spokesperson, DSP Edafe Bright stated that, "Sequel to a report received by the DPO Sapele Division that on 14/05/2021 at about 2000hrs while one fejiro okotie ‘f’ age 31yrs was about to enter her gate at NDDC Road Sapele, three unknown armed men blocked her, forced her into her Honda accord vehicle and took her away.

As soon as the complaint was received, the DPO Sapele Division CSP Harrison Nwabuisi quickly mobilized police operatives from Sapele Division in conjunction with local vigilante and followed the direction where the kidnappers fled to, due to the tireless effort of the DPO and men mobilized for the operation, Sapele became too hot for them, as they never had the time to call for ransom because the police was constantly on their trail, hence they took their victim out of Sapele."

"The Commissioner of police Delta state CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, PSC+ ordered that the victim must be rescued unhurt thereby by keeping the DPOS in the area on their toes.

The DPO Sapele informed other DPOS that shared boundary with Sapele to be on the alert. The Divisional police officer Orerokpe Division SP OJO Oluwole who also mobilized police men from Oreropke Division in conjuction with vigilante combed all the boundaries between Sapele and oreropke, due to their unrelenting effort, on 15/05/2021 at about 1100hrs, the kidnappers were sighted, they engaged the police in a gun duel but due to the superior firepower of the police, they abandoned their tricycle with Reg No ABD739VD and escaped through the bush.


On searching the tricycle one locally made double barrel cut to size gun, one locally made single barrel cut to size gun with two live cartridges were recovered.

The victim Fejiro Okotie 'f' aged 31 years was rescued unhurt and her Honda accord Vehicle with reg no. ABJ 504BC recovered.

Manhunt for the fleeing suspects is ongoing."

"On 30/04/2021 at about 0630hrs information got to the DPO Agbarho Division that at about 0200hrs of same date, suspected armed robbers broke into the house of the complainant (name withheld ) and stole one Iphone pro- max valued at #390,000.00, one Iphone 8 plus valued at #200,000.00, one Iphone 6 valued at #50,00.00, one Iphone S valued at #250,000.00, one Iphone 7 valued at #160,000.00, one android phone valued at #40,000.00, one hp laptop and other items. Upon receipt of this report, the scene was visited, photographed and investigation commenced.


However on 11/05/2021, painstaking investigation and technical intelligence by the police led to the arrest of one peter Fredrick Testimony (m) 25 yrs old and one Junior Williams (m) 22 yrs old both of mammy market army barracks Effurun Warri who allegedly took part actively in the crime. Manhunt for other gang members is being intensified while effort to recover the stolen items is on."

"On 16/05/2021 at about 0200hrs a distress call was received by the DPO Abraka Division CSP Aliyu Shaba that a gang of armed robbers were robbing people of their belongings in their a compound, the DPO immediately mobilized patrol teams/ vigilante and raced to the scene.

The armed robbers numbering about four on sighting the team engaged the team in a gun duel.

During the exchange of firing, two of the robbers were fatally wounded and gave up the ghost on the way to hospital while others escaped into the bush with bullets wound.

On the same date at about 0530hrs in continuation of the rigorous search for the fled armed robbers, the DPO and the patrol teams mounted early morning stop and search along Abraka/Eku express way when suddenly a passenger vehicle carrying two young boys along with other persons was flagged down for search before the vehicle could finally stop the two young boys who are already with bullet injuries on sighting the police took to their heels they were maimed and arrested they both confessed to being members of the armed robbery gang that just escaped from a robbery scene and gave the names of the first two members as one Godspower Thomas "m" a.k.a Perleke of Sapele road Scrab yard Warri and one Ejime Omovon 'm' a.k.a. evil spirit of Urhka Abraka while one peace Johnson "m" a.k.a de-law of Ukpaka in udu LGA and Joel surname unknown "m" of Ughelli were the last arrested while trying to escape along Abraka/Eku express way.


Due to continuous bleeding from the gunshot injuries sustained earlier they gave up the ghost in the hospital before treatment could be administered. Items recovered includes one locally made pump action like gun one expanded and two live cartridges, one big cutlass one mortar pistol, one hp laptop a dvd player, one play station with four play station pads some clothing’s item's, other items includes three power banks one white glo Wi-Fi, one Iphone Xmas, one tecno pop 3 phone, one Nokia torchlight phone, one Redmi Android phone, one VIVO android phone one Samsung galaxy x10 phone interestingly all properties recovered were identified by victims as theirs that was robbed from them that night. Investigation is ongoing."

"On 17/05/021 at about 0450hrs distress call was received by the Dpo Oghara Division from a complainant (name withheld) of pipe line off ibori road oghareki that armed robbers numbering about five are in their area robbing from house to house.

The Divisional Police Officer Oghara Division CSP Hassan Isah quickly drafted patrol teams vigilantes to the area. The robbers on sighting the police, engaged the police operatives on shooting spree and the team gallantly returned fire.


The robbers who could not withstand the fire power of the police took to their heels but when the surrounding area was combed one of the robbers was found to have been hit on the head while it is suspected that others escaped with bullet wounds, exhibit recovered include two cut to size barrel guns, four live cartridges six expended ones a total of nine phones cash sum of thirty four thousand three hundred and seventy naira (#34370:00) all the phones have been identified by the owners who was victim of the said robbery incidence. Effort is on to arrest the fleeing members of the gang."

"On 17/05/2021 at about 0500hrs one of the indigene of Okuovo Community reported at Orerokpe police station that at about 0200hrs of same date while he was on guard duty at okuovo, three unknown armed men attacked and robbed him of one tecno phone one daylong motorcycle, a cash of #23,000.


On receipt of this report, the DPO Orerokpe division Mobilized anti crime patrol team to the scene, while combing the area, one Raphael Onukwasa 'm' was arrested when he was trying to escape.

One English cut to size double barrel gun, the stolen phone and the Daylong motorcycle was recovered from him while two others escaped.

Investigation is ongoing while manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang is ongoing."

"On 10/05/2021 at about 2130hrs intelligence gathered revealed that some young men are always seen at Olu of Warri palace junction mostly at night and usually rob unsuspecting victims of their belongings.

The Divisional police officer ‘A’ Division Warri CSP T.Y. Mahmud mobilized rapid respond team of the Division, they swung into action and went after these bad elements and arrested two young men, namely one Oscar Ekeremiye "m" age 18yrs and Lagos Daniel "m" age 20yrs after carefully searched, one sharp kitchen knife was found with one of the suspect and suspects have been linked to previous phone snatching in the same manner.

Intelligence also has it that they robbed a woman the previous day. Investigation is still ongoing.


Also on 11/10/2021 at about 1930 in compliance with Delta state Commissioner of Police directives on the clamp down/raiding of criminal hide outs in the state, the men A division Warri divisional rapid respond team raided a black spot at Olabrakonopere Community in Warri and arrested the one Moses Beriyate who is the owner of a drinking bar, information has it that the said suspect deals in illicit drugs and Indian hemp, but luck ran out of him that day.

When search was conducted at the bar, 13 wraps of skunk, 3 wraps of Indian hemp was recovered. Investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police urge members of the public to warn their wards to shun all form of crime and criminality, as crime will never see the light of the day thereby destroying the future of these young wards, parent should do their part by giving their children proper up bringing as this is one of the best way to raise a proper society free of crime, while also members of the public to continue to partner with the police, the Police will do everything possible to bring crime rate in the state to barest level, and will never relent in this fight.
