BATS-VANGUARD MOUNTS GUARD IN APAPA-IGANMU; DECLARES HON. AKANDE-MOHAMMED AS DEPUTY NATIONAL WOMEN LEADER

By Oki Samson

Sociopolitical group, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguard is spreading its tentacles massively and speedily across the length and breadth of the country and all over the globe.

The group which is pushing for astute politician, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to run for presidency come 2023 was in Apapa-Iganmu LCDA over the weekend to drum support for their sole objective.

At the event, the Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Hon. Funmilayo Akande-Mohammed was confirmed as the Deputy National Women Leader in the presence of many other high-ranking leaders of the group.

The political group is also using the Apapa-Iganmu event as the springboard for its branches across Lagos Conference 57.

Speaking at the event, Amb. Dare Owotomobi, Founder/Global Chairman of BATS-Vanguard stated that the main objective of the group is to enthrone good governance.

‘We observed that there is decadence and we see Lagos as a good template which we know was started by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Even though he has not declared, we want a replica of what he did at the federal level.

We want to tap from his wealth of experience. That is why we are calling him.’

‘We are not only mobilizing here in Nigeria, we are mobilizing all over the globe. We have our group in the 36 states of Nigeria, Canada, America, UK, and the Middle East.’

On the concerns of 2021 being not ripe enough for politics, the leader of the political front noted: ‘Some people are saying it is too early but we believe what is worth doing at all is worth doing at the very best.

It is not too early to start proffering solutions to the issues of Nigeria’.

Speaking with Trek Africa Newspaper, another leader of the political front who is the Chairman of BAT Solidarity Vanguard in Osun state, Hon. Rasheed Adeniji shared: ‘We are standing for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We want him to become president.

We see him as a friend of the people who have the interest of us all at heart. That is why we are rooting for him.’

The newly appointed leader of the BATS-Vanguard and Incumbent Executive Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Hon. Mrs. Funmilayo Akande-Mohammed expressed her pleasure, ‘I feel very excited to be nominated and appointed as Deputy National Women Leader for BAT Solidarity Vanguard and I am also the Women Leader in Southwest.’

‘We started this journey about 2 years ago when many people were not even seeing it. The issue of Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a Nigerian thing.

We will still go for the entire Lagos, this is just Apapa-Iganmu and you can see that people don’t take the issue of our father, Bola Ahmed Tinubu lightly.

2023 is like tomorrow and we are ready for it.

We have leaders all across Southwest. I can only pray for good health for him.’

Speaking on the personality of the APC national leader, Chief Mrs. Fadekemi Otitonaiye who is the APC Lagos Central Senatorial District Women Leader where Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu belongs said: ‘Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is my father.

The wife is my mother. He is a father to all.

He is a grassrooter. He chose from different states into leadership positions. He is worthy to stand to be president.

I identify with him.’

‘Our canvassing and mobilization for him started long time ago.

This programme was put together within three days. Look at the people present.

Men, women and youths are standing with Asiwaju Tinubu. Youths have the highest votes followed by women, with the men also; we are ready.’

Also present at the event is the Special Adviser to the Governor Sanwo-Olu on Community Affairs and Development, Hon.

Babatunde Adewale Jr. who noted that several groups have been floated to promote the candidacy of the Jagaban of Africa, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

‘Many of us have various groups for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is another group and we have to be there.

This is because we want him in 2023.

God has used him to make many people. He doesn’t discriminate.

We are soliciting support from other parts of the country so that we can enjoy his magnanimity.’

‘The youth should support Bola Ahmed Tinubu because during his first term as Governor, he used predominantly youths. During second term, he used a cross-section of people.

When he left, he made sure that his successor is a youth.

Babatunde Raji Fashola was less than 40 when he became Governor. Bola Ahmed Tinubu had long term planning for Lagos.

It was during his time that we had model colleges and special schools so that poor people can attain quality education.’

On the success of the ingenious Local Council Development Areas floated by Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Governor of Lagos state, the Special Adviser remarked: ‘Bola Tinubu felt that governance had to get to the root.

That is why he broke the LGAs. He went to court and won.

I expect that federal lawmakers would by now have made it possible for states assemblies to create as many LGAs they want and finance it.

You will see that in Lagos with the LCDA, development is getting down. Lagos is a pacesetter.

Let him replicate that at the federal level.

The coup of 1966 happened because the military said they wanted Obafemi Awolowo to come and replicate the development in the Southwest to the federal level.

It didn’t work out because of our complexity.’
