Isaac Akinmoyede Assumes Office As AIG Zone 5 Command, Benin

AIG Isaac Akinmoyede has assumed office as the new Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police in charge of Zone 5.

The zone covers Edo and Delta.

DSP Tijani Momoh, Police Public Relations Officer of Zone 5 stated on Tuesday that Akinmoyede resumed work in the zone on Monday, April 19.

Akinmoyede was AIG in-charge of Zone 17 covering Ondo and Ekiti States before his redeployment as AIG Zone 5.

Momoh stated that Akinmoyede had gone through management and professional courses in Nigeria, Ghana and India in the past.

He attended management workshops at Police Staff College, Jos; Civilian Police in Peacekeeping Operations course in Ghana and Information Technology in Law Enforcement course in India.

AIG Akinmoyede enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 15th March, 1988 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP) and has served in many parts of the country which include (1) Lagos (2) Imo (3) Force CID, Abuja (4) Force Headquarters, Abuja (5) Enugu (6) Maritime Command Headquarters, Lagos (7) Plateau (8) Osun (9) FCT. Others include (10) Zone 14, Makurdi (11) Zone 2, Lagos (12) Zone 6, Calabar (13)Zone 17, Akure, among others.

He also served as CP Force Animal Branch, Force Headquarters, Abuja, CP Plateau State Command, Jos.

He was the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Police Command until his promotion to the rank of an Assistant Inspector- General of Police last year 2020.

AIG Isaac O. Akinmoyede was the immediate past AIG in-charge of Zone 17 Command (Ondo and Ekiti States), before his redeployment as AIG Zone 5 Command, Benin.

Meanwhile, in the course of his career, the AIG has undergone some professional courses both home and abroad.

These include the Management workshop course at Police Staff College, Jos; Civilian Police in Peace keeping operations, at Tashie, Ghana; Information Technology In Law Enforcement, at New Delhi, India; Intermediate, Senior Command and the Assistant/Deputy Commissioner of Police CID courses all at the Police Staff College, Jos.

Other courses attended by the AIG includes Professional Managers' course organized by the Nigeria Institute of Management, and the Higher Defense Course at the National Defence College, Abuja, where he was awarded the fellow of the defence college (fdc).


His hobbies include, reading, playing golf and watching football.
