SAD! Tony Tetuila Awaits Political Appointment

Tony Tetuila wants a political position in Kwara State, but 3 years after. The veteran musician's hopes may just be dwindling.

Tony Tetuila never made it to the All Progressive Congress' (APC) primaries.

The blonde haired musician was aspiring to represent Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State at the Kwara State House of Assembly, during the 2015 elections.

He was asked to step down by party elders before the primaries for a more seasoned candidate.

The ‘My Car’ singer and former member of the defunct boy group Remedies claims he was promised a political appointment by the governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Three years after the elections, Tony Tetuila seems to be Waiting For Godot.

He said, “I took a break from music for 11 years because I wanted to face my other businesses and politics as well. I had to focus on my political career.

The Kwara State governor promised me a political appointment which I am still waiting for. But I cannot wait forever. If God says it is my fate, then, I would get it.

“I spent a lot of money during my foray into politics but I decided to come back to music which is what I know how to do best.

When it comes to politics, if you do not get the position you are contesting for, it simply means that you would run at a loss. I thank God because I may have lost money but I gained a lot of experience", he added.

However, the singer has gone back to his first love - making music.

It is yet to be seen if his musical comeback is worth it or if he should just try his hands in politics again in 2019.
