Breaking: Vehicle Falls Into Lagos Lagoon, Occupants Trapped

A vehicle in the late hours of Saturday plunged into the lagoon by the University of Lagos waterfront, The Nation is reporting.

The newspaper said it gathered that the vehicle collided with another before skidding into the water around 10:55pm.

One Beheaded, Four Others Killed As Cultists Clash In Ikorodu


No fewer than five persons have been reported dead in a clash involving cultists in Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
One of those that died was said to be a meat vendor, Olaitan Imo Ibadan.
He was said to have been beheaded and his head dropped at the Inner Town Roundabout.

Osinbajo a lying pastor – Omokri blasts VP over claims against Jonathan

The camp of former President Goodluck Jonathan has called Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, a Pastor that tell lies.
This is in reaction to Osinbajo’s claim that Jonathan doled out the sum of N100 billion and $295 million in cash two weeks to the 2015 elections.
A statement by Jonathan’s former special assistant on New Media, Reno Omokri said Osinbajo lied to divert attention from the ongoing saga involving former Pension boss, Abdulrasheed Maina.

Joshua promoter aims at Wilder, Parker in 2018

Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn wants to take the world heavyweight champion overseas after his 10th round win over Carlos Takam Saturday.
Joshua retained his International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Association heavyweight titles after stopping Takam at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
All of Joshua’s 20 professional fights have ended inside the distance and have all been in Britain.
“I would like him to box three times in 2018,” Hearn told reporters.

Osinbajo Slams Christian Leaders For Shunning Unity

The Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has slammed Christian leaders for their failure to unite the Christiandom as one body.
"Part of the problem is the failure of Christian leadership to take its rightful place. We focus our minds on something we call the Islamic agenda. We look for it everywhere as if we are looking for demons.

“But where is the Christian agenda. Are we not entitled to one? We are too divided as Christians to have an agenda. The key to the unity and progress of Nigeria is in the church.”

Group asks Abaribe to produce Nnamdi Kanu

South-East based group, the World Igbo Youth Congress, WIYC, on Thursday, asked Abia State Governor and Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe to produce the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

A group spoke in apparent reply to Governor Ikpeazu, who had told State House correspondents, after meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, that it was not his duty to locate Kanu.

Use social media to bridge gap in governance, CSOs tell citizens

Some Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have called on the Federal Government and the citizens to use social media to promote good governance. Mr Oluwole Olupeju, the Media Manager of Enough is Enough, a CSO, said there was the need to fashion out ideas to enhance relationship between the government and the citizens.



"The new media tools of social media represent the best way to facilitate engagement between Nigerian citizens and their elected officials and institutions.
