Two pregnant women collapsed and died in Bauchi, yesterday, while waiting to be screened by the Verification Team from the office of the Account General of the state government. The two pregnant women (names withheld) were among the over 6,000 teachers in the state that were asked to assemble at the state local government education secretariat for screening before collecting their salaries.

Old girls scheming to sack Queen’s College principal – PTA

Lagos court remands driver, 30, for allegedly defiling 7-year-old girl

Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of an Ikeja High Court on Tuesday revoked the bail granted a driver, Samuel Akanni, for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl and remanded him in prison custody.

“The defendant is hereby remanded in prison custody and the bail earlier given to him by the lower court is hereby revoked,” she ruled.

Fuel scarcity: Lagos Assembly urges Buhari to end hardship

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to proffer solution to the lingering fuel scarcity and its attendant hardship on citizens. A 23-year-old mechanic, Paul Dosu, has been brought before a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court, 
Lagos State, for allegedly selling his customer’s tricycle and converting the proceeds to personal use.
