OPERATION "TURA TAKAIBANGO": TROOPS NEUTRALISES TWO OF THE MOST WANTED BHTs COMMANDERS ABUL-BAS AND IBN HABIB

The renewed offensive operations by troops of Operation TURA TAKAIBANGO in Operation LAFIYA DOLE Theatre, has continued to inflict heavy casualty on the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) and the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) criminals.

Among the latest exploits by the troops of Sector 1 was the ambush by troops of 121 and 151 Battalions on Tuesday, 9 February, 2021, sprang at BHTs crossing point between Vuria and Guja settlements along road Banki Junction - Pulka axis.

Update: Senate summons CBN Governor over Crypto ban

The Senate has mandated it’s Committees on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institution, ICT and Cybercrimes and Capital Market to invite the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele for briefing on the ban of Crypto transactions placed by the apex bank.

This was disclosed by the Senate via its Twitter handle after Thursday’s plenary session.

A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kingsley Moghalu, has said that $500 million worth of Bitcoin has been traded in Nigeria within the last 5 years.

This is as the former Presidential Candidate, who was once in charge of the financial systems directorate at the CBN said that many Nigerians trade in these cryptocurrencies because it protects them from the fluctuations in the value of the naira.

BREAKING: CBN orders banks to close cryptocurrency accounts

The Central Bank has ordered banks and other financial institutions to identify persons and entities operating cryptocurrency exchanges and close all such accounts.

It stated that dealing with cryptocurrencies and facilitating payments through them are illegal in the country.
