FG workers threaten strike over unpaid salary arrears

FEDERAL senior civil servants have threatened to down tools over unpaid salary arrears, appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari to direct immediate payment of their backlog of salaries and allowances.

The workers said their patience had been overstretched. Speaking through their umbrella body, the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, the workers said the current state of affairs in the country, where sufferings had been lifted to a frightening level, was the time to settle the  arrears to calm all frayed nerves and restore normalcy in the system.

GOVERNOR Willie Obiano of Anambra State has threatened to deal ruthlessly with civil servants in the state, who allegedly connive with revenue agents to swindle the state of huge sums of money, thereby sabotaging government’s efforts to shore up the state’s Internally Generated Revenue, IGR.

Controversy over N32m raised to save cancer patient, Mayowa Ahmed sparks outrage on Twitter

Nigerians are taking to social media to show their displeasure about an upsetting report of an alleged fraud case surrounding the sum of N32m raised from the public to save cancer patient, Mayowa Ahmed.

28-yr-old Mayowa, a graduate of University of Lagos and an HB SS patient was diagnosed with bilateral Ovarian Mass Carcinoma, as stated in a diagnosis result sheet from the Reddington Hospital.

Keshi did extraordinary things – Pinnick

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, on Thursday paid tribute to the late ex-Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, describing him as a super hero.
“I have always described him as a super hero because he was a super hero. He did not do things that were regular he did things that were extraordinary,” Pinnick said at the funeral mass for Keshi.
