Benue boils again as Fulani herdsmen kill 13 in Tiv communities

No fewer than 13 persons have been killed by suspected Fulani Herdsmen in two local government areas of Logo and Ukum in Benue State.
The attack is coming barely three days after Governor Samuel Ortom met with stakeholders from Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo local government areas to deliberate on ways to tackle the incessant herdsmen attacks.

The last has not been heard of the messy war between the controversial daughter of Victor Omololu Olunloyo – a former governor of Oyo State, Kemi Olunloyo, and an alleged family member, one Tokunbo Aboderin who accused the latter of sleeping with her father.
Recently the internet went viral with a video clip shared by Aboderin on the social media.
The Dublin/Ireland-based woman speaking in Yoruba, rained curses on Ms Olunloyo for questioning and reporting investigative news about Nigerian celebrities.

Lightning strikes killed at least 90 people Tuesday in four Indian states as monsoon rains swept across much of the country.
"Lightning strikes are common during monsoons, but there have been more strikes than usual this year," said Vyas Ji, principal secretary in Bihar, where a record 57 people died Tuesday from the strikes -- the most of any state in the country.

Ogun private school owners protest over multiple levies

Private school owners in Ogun State on Wednesday protested over alleged multiple levies and charges by the state government.

Scores of the private schools owners under the aegis of National Associations of Proprietors of Private Schools, Ogun chapter, stormed the Nigeria Union of Journalists Secretariat, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta protesting  against the more than 150 per cent increase in the charges for the First School Leaving Certificate examination.

Zenith Bank, not Dasuki funded my campaign – Fayose

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State says Zenith Bank Plc and other private donors funded his 2014 governorship campaign.
He, therefore, stated that linking him with embattled former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki (retd.) was nonsensical.

Fayose said this in a statement on Wednesday while reacting to an allegation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that N1, 219, 490,000 was flown to Akure Airport on June 12, 2014 to Fayose by a former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro.
