I love Jonathan, but he shouldn’t have run in 2015 – Fayose

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has declared that the immediate past president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan should not have participated in the 2015 presidential election.

It would be recalled that in the build up to the epic election, Fayose was a major supporter of the ex-president who is alleged to have deployed federal might and resources in installing him as the Ekiti State Governor in 2014.

May Day: FG ignores N56, 000 minimum wage proposal

The Federal Government on Sunday kept mum over the recent demand by the organised labour for a new minimum wage of N56,000.
The issue of the minimum wage was not mentioned by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari, at the May Day rally in Abuja.

Officials of the Nigeria Labour Congress expressed disappointment at the failure of the President to personally attend the annual event which would have given him the opportunity to address some of the issues raised by the workers.

Buhari alone can’t turn around Nigeria’s fortunes – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Sunday said President Muhammadu Buhari alone cannot turnaround Nigeria’s fortunes.

He said this in his May Day message to Nigerian workers. Atiku explained that notwithstanding the huge challenges the country and its people are facing, it will take the support of everyone working in tandem with the Buhari administration to lift the economy out of the doldrums.

Resident doctors shift planned nationwide strike by 2 weeks

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has shifted its planned nationwide strike by two weeks.
The strike that was to commence on April 25 will now begin on May 9.

The National President of the association, Dr Muhammad Askira, made the disclosure while addressing a news conference in Kano on Sunday.
