13 dead in triple suicide attacks in Chibok town

At least 13 people were killed on Wednesday when three suicide bombers blew themselves up in the northeast Nigerian town of Chibok, where Boko Haram kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls.

Teenagers remanded over gang rape of minor

Four boys, three of them teenagers, were on Wednesday in Lagos remanded in prison custody over an alleged gang -rape of their 14-year-old neighbour. The accused persons – Femi Olatunji, 18; Rasheed Oyekanmi, 18; Habeeb Oladele, 18 and John Alade, 20; are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, child defilement and rape before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

Can Nigerian teachers still teach?

Teachers are the first set of people who give a child a sense of self or validation outside of the home. If they are successful at imparting their knowledge and building a child’s confidence in his or her abilities, or in encouraging a child to pursue certain skills or even dreams, then they would have had a positive impact on that child’s life.
